The Dutch "Flying Car": PAL-V now has economic backup

Here at Carscoop, we're always up for sci-fi anything. That includes any sort of futuristic vehicle that'll be driving us to work and our families to the movies with in the next 10 years. The Dutch "Flying Car" company announced on Tuesday that it has found investors to back its start-up operation for a real flying vehicle.

The PAL-V, an acronym for Personal Air and Land Vehicle, is a three-wheeled car which triples as a motorcycle and gyrocopter. PAL-V runs on gas, biodiesel or bioethanol, reaching speeds of 124 mph on land and air and going from zero to 62 mph in 5 seconds. The vehicle comes equipped with a rotor and propeller which are conveniently packed away until you're ready to use them. But if it's equipped for air and land, what about water? Looks like air-traffic control will have their work cut out for them!
