Transformers: The Real Robots in Disguise

Here’s another example of useless toys that we love because they evoke childhood nostalgia. From what we gather, these actual transforming car/robots went on exhibit at what seems to be a Japanese tech show. The video demonstrates a toy car made out of something that resembles a child’s erector set but with far more technology. The car then transforms into a mobile robot and then back into a car again. Everything in this presentation is completely authentic meaning there’s not special effects, just good old fashion brain technology the way every Transformer should be built!

eBay: Chevy Camaro "Bumblebee" From Transformers!

With the Transformers movie breaking all records in its first week at the box office, we’re seeing all kinds of memorabilia emerging from the original show. This 1977 Chevy Camaro, that played Bumblebee, is being auctioned off on eBay. Priced at just over $24,000, whatever the final bid price is, all of the proceeds will be donated to the Fischer House Foundation, helping veterans by building homes for their families and other injured military personal. We consider this buy, not only a total deal but a piece of present day Hollywood and a nostalgic part of our early days.

Chinese Transformer’s: Knock-Off’s in Disguise

Chinese automaker, Great Wall, is at it again. This time, they’re knocking off our beloved “robots in disguise”, The Transformers, in order to promote their own knock off vehicles. With the opening of the new Transformers movie, what better way to show off the Chinese copy-cat skills than to make some knock off robots and match them with profiles, silly names and their own “original vehicles”. Take for example “Florida” which transforms into a 3.91 meter tall robot from a knock of Toyota. But after we learned that this particular robot “identifies most with Paris Hilton”, we completely lost all respect. Other fake-o characters include Perry, i7 and Coolbear. Beware for those knock-off Chinese Transformers because ultimately, they are “less than meets the eye.”

Just leave us a comment below, we’d really appreciate it!

Video: GM’s Camaro Designers Talk About The Transformers Movie

GM Blogs just released two videos featuring lead Camaro interior designer Micah Jones and GM’s Director of rear-wheel drive performance cars and Corvette, Tom Peters, talking about the Camaro and the forthcoming Transformers Movie. Yes, we agree both are acting kinda geeky but to be honest, we definitely prefer these folks to all those Armani suited car-folks walking around with a set of yellow-Bilsteins stuck up their a$... -Follow the jump to see both videos

Thanks for the tip Mary!

Promo Wars: Transformers, Pontiacs in Disguise...

Pontiac has begun its promotion of the Solstice GXP roadster that will appear in the new Transformers movie that’s due out July 4th. The promotion is also holding a campaign through Maxim, a magazine geared towards men. By visiting the Maxim website, visitors can enter contests whose prizes include a Solstice GXP and a chance to accompany Transformers star Megan Fox to the movie’s premier.

Other “transformations” that we’ll see in the movie include the likes of Chevrolet, GMC and Hummer vehicles. Pontiac used similar technology in a campaign tied to this year's NCAA men's basketball championship which generated a viewer click-through rate 10 times higher than other Pontiac online promotions. In this high tech digital age, we’re excited to check this remake flick from back in the day. -Click “Read More…” below and check out the Solstice - Transformer wallpapers

New Transformers Clip Shown On Jay Leno's Tonight Show

Transformers star Shia LaBeouf, aka “Sam Witwicky” appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and apart from the usual chit chat we also saw a clip from the movie featuring Sam trying to hide the Autobots in his backyard from his father. We heard that Michael Bay’s movie would have a few funny scenes, but if they’re like this one, we’d rather someone take them out before the film hits cinemas worldwide on July 4th.

Transformers: Bumblebee Makes A Guest Appearance At The Barcelona Show

Barely a month before the long-awaited Transformers Movie hits the big screen (July 4) and the producers of the film decided to take Bumblebee for a cross Atlantic jaunt over to the 2007 Barcelona Motor Show (June 7-19). In case you’re wondering why we’re not seeing the '09 Chevrolet Camaro, that’s because Bumblebee will start off in the film as ’76 F-Body Camaro that later becomes the '09 version.

New Transformers Theatrical Trailer

Now this is more like it; Bumblebee standing up on his own two feet, Starscream mucking around in the air and a whole lot more. The final theatrical trailer of Michael Bay’s Transformer Movie is probably the best thing you’ll see until the film hits the big-screen on July 4th. Excited? We most certainly are. Transformers: Build your own Chevrolet Autobot

Chevy’s marketing love for Transformers is moving up a level with the launch of a new website dedicated to Autobots. You can choose from a series of Chevy models (Avalanche, Aveo, Cobalt, Equinox, HHR, Impala & Silverado, but unfortunately, not the Camaro…) and customize them; theoretically speaking cause, to be honest, we got quickly bored and let it go. As for our Jalop friend’s quest for the perfect Decepticon, we wouldn’t look towards the Mustang but to Toyota; now there’s a true-blue enemy… Via: Jalopnik , Source: Chevrolet

You guessed it; GM is an official partner of the forthcoming action-adventure movie, "Transformers”. Of course I’m sure that most of you are aware of that but marketing is marketing. So, apart from the announcement that took place at the sixth annual "ten" pre-Oscar fashion event at Paramount Pictures in Hollywood, GM was kind enough to show off four of its robo-hearted vehicles; Jazz (Pontiac Solstice), Bumblebee (Camaro Concept), Ratchet (Hummer H2) and Ironhide (GMC TopKick). PRESS RELEASE: 'Transformers' and GM Form Power Partnership

Live-Action Movie's 'Heroes' Attend 6th Annual GM Ten Event;
DreamWorks/Paramount Film Slated to Debut July 4

LOS ANGELES- Four new movie stars - "Bumblebee," "Autobot Jazz," "Autobot Ratchet" and "Ironhide" - from DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures,' in association with Hasbro's, forthcoming July 4th action-adventure release, "Transformers™," were introduced this evening by General Motors Corp. (NYSE: GM) as it hosted its sixth annual "ten" pre-Oscar fashion event at Paramount Pictures in Hollywood.

"Bumblebee" changes from the classic Chevrolet Camaro, and is a central character in the saga of aliens who take mechanical forms when on Earth. "Autobot Jazz" converts from a Pontiac Solstice in a hardtop format. A Hummer H2, modified as a rescue vehicle, changes into "Autobot Ratchet," and "Ironhide" changes from a GMC TopKick medium-duty truck. They all star in this summer's live-action blockbuster, "Transformers," from DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures, in association with Hasbro, which will premiere July 4.

Buzz about the roles that these vehicles play in the movie has been spreading since a quick glimpse of the new Camaro was spotted in Paramount's newest "Transformers" trailer, which began appearing in theaters on Dec. 20, 2006. This clip, which is currently the most-viewed movie trailer on Yahoo!, also contains images of the Solstice, H2 and TopKick for fans who were quick enough to have freeze-framed it.

"'Transformers' is a compelling project and offers us a global platform for marketing GM products and building our brands," said Mike Jackson, GM North America vice president, marketing and advertising. "It represents the perfect intersection of entertainment, marketing and design."

"The first time I saw the new Camaro, while touring the GM Design Center, I knew immediately that it would be the perfect 'Bumblebee,'" said Michael Bay, the film's Director. He continued, "It's got beautiful lines and a classic, timeless look. There were no other cars that came even close. I have had a great working relationship with GM for many years and am psyched to be working with them on 'Transformers.'"

Gerry Rich, President of Worldwide Marketing at Paramount Pictures, added, "We are thrilled to be working with GM on this incredible and action-packed film. Having integrated the cars as characters in the film is truly an innovative concept that will help eventize this exciting 4th of July tentpole film."

GM will roll out a fully integrated marketing and promotional effort around the film in the near future, including a major Chevrolet promotion, according to Jackson. Images, scenes and clips - all things "Transformers" - may be found at the official Web site: http://www.transformersmovie.com.

Transformers Movie Trailer – Extended Japanese version

I don’t know why but fact is that the boyz over at Japan are getting a few extra scenes of the new Transformer Movie Trailer that came out worldwide a few weeks ago. Transformers Movie Toy Pictures

Oh boy, I can just see this happening: I’m going up to the cashier with like 20 Autobot and Decepticon figures and my girlfriend behind me nagging about that it’s time to grow up and stop spending money on die-cast models, K&N filters and toys.

Ok, I kind of got carried away so let get back to our subject. Posted on TWF2005, they give us an exclusive first look on how the 2007 Autobot & Decepticon toys will look like. Not bad at all. I’m guessing a lot of you out there in your late 20’s - early 30’s like me will be among the first to get their hands on these babies. Pics Via: TWF2005

New Transformers Movie Trailer

Finally, after a series of leaked pictures & scripts, “scoop” videos and a really lousy teaser trailer here’s the official Transformer Movie Trailer. Being a fan and everything of Autobots & Decepticons, I’m one of those guys who’ll run up to buy tickets in advance when the movie hits the big screen on the 4th of July. Although we can’t say much for now, the two minute long video is actually quite promising. Plus it offers us a glimpse (among others) of Optimus Prime and his Chevrolet Camaro Concept based pal, Bumblebee.
